About the project
The research objectives are focused on design/development of preparative and analytical methodologies to not yet investigated (or only partially) unifloral honey types as well as honey-based products in order to impact the biodiversity, traceability and authentication issues of targeted samples. Moreover, biodiversity, phytochemical profiles as well as physical-chemical properties of the selected honeys will be investigated. Chemical characterization will allow biomarker identification, authentication, quality/safety control, finding biologically active substances (unlocking useful potential), understanding relation among used honey variety and derived product.
